Kimpton Palomar Chicago Staycation

Updated: Jun 17, 2021

A Queen who slays all day everyday needs time to unwind and relax to reset her mind, body and soul.....what better way to do that than with a holiday for one! Two weeks ago, the Palomar Chicago hosted me to stay at their River North location. I was in prime location where all the action and fun was held. I had a warm welcome with my favorite special treats, French wine and chocolate covered strawberries. They really knew how to spoil a Queen!

I absolutely loved every attention to detail and all the travel essentials they had available for their guests. If you forgot something, they literally had a laundry list of items to get from the front desk with a simple call and brought over to your room. This is extremely important for a woman since we tend to carry more bath and beauty essentials. I also love that my name was on the TV welcoming me, that was a beautiful surprise as well, I was very impressed and felt like I was at home but better!

When I checked into the boutique hotel, I had the best customer service providing me with a warm welcome. After I settled into my room, I headed downstairs to enjoy the wine happy hour being served for guests in the Living Room Lounge which is absolutely elegant with stunning chandeliers and plush velvet sofas. Once I finished my delicious wine, I headed up to the 17th floor to take in the city views from the Frisco Terrace and people watch who were in the indoor pool enjoying their swim. Afterwards, I took a stroll around River North area and discovered new food spots nearby that I added to my bucket-list for the near future. See below for things to do nearby.

Things to do (shopping & restaurants):

Nordstrom

Bed, Bath & Beyond

Eataly

Michigan Avenue (Magnificent Mile Shopping)

Chicago Riverwalk

Cantina Laredo

Fremont Cocktail Bar

The Smith Restaurant

Bodega

Barrio

Flora Fauna

Siena Tavern

I returned back to my room and winded down to a movie night-in since I was exhausted after a long day of work. It was truly marvelous to have a gorgeous city view to go to sleep to and wake up to. And who doesn't love breakfast in bed, right?! My favorite part was the fancy brunch spread with croissants, fresh fruit bowl, tea and juice to start my day after having a rejuvenating evening.

Thank you so much Palomar Chicago for the royal treatment, I had the best time and loved the stupendous customer service with personal text messages to ensure my stay was excellent! I'm excited to come back again soon. Next time you travel to Chicago for a holiday or need a staycation, I highly recommend this hotel, check them out! 📸 photography by Five By Five Creative🍓🍇🥐☕️🍾
