ROOH Chicago

Updated: Jun 17, 2021

Do you like Indian cuisine? I normally don't go to Indian restaurants or rarely recommend them because I love authentic homemade Indian cooking by my mom who is the best chef out of the entire family and relatives. But when I saw that ROOH Chicago was a new elegant spot in West Loop with a modern twist to the traditional dishes, I had to go. I started with the Hyderabad Tonic cocktail that has turmeric plus gin and more flavors that were really refreshing with an astringent taste. My friend and I had shared the Lamb Keema, Chicken 65, Edamame & Avocado Chaat and Pani Puri which was more than enough to satisfy our hunger with the small plates. Most of the dishes we ordered were from Hyderabad which is where my family is originally from back home in India and each dish was absolutely delicious with a fusion twist to the original recipes.

My personal favorite by far was the Chicken 65, it was actually better than my mom's homemade version, sorry mummy but it had a unique blend of spices I haven't ate before and with the right amount of heat. I loved the ambiance, exquisite chandeliers, wall art, plush furniture decor, amazing service, great conversation with the friendly GM Manish and the modern Indian music that set the tone and vibe of the restaurant making you want to get up to dance Bollywood style. If you like trying various ethnic foods and looking for amazing Indian food to try for the first time or because you're already a fan, I highly recommend to check newly opened ROOH Chicago! I have to go back to try more of their dishes and deserts soon, it was a phenomenal dinner experience, thanks for an amazing night ROOH!
